House Republicans Ask Trump to Rescind Recent Executive Orders

A letter to President Trump was sent by 21 House Republicans on Monday, June 11, 2018, demonstrating support for federal employees’ workplace rights. Union leaders state that the recent Executive Orders undermine the benefits of collective bargaining and attempt to strip away the power of organized labor, issues which the letter directly addresses.

“Management and labor must work collaboratively to ensure that the workplace is safe, fair, and productive,” the letter states.

The show of support for our country’s dedicated federal employees by the 21 House Republicans who signed this letter is encouraging for union leaders. As said by NAGE National President David J. Holway, “clearly President Trump does not respect the hardworking men and women that he was elected to manage in the federal division.”

The letter delivered to President Trump closes by stating, “we believe that the three Executive Orders undermine existing labor laws and we ask that you rescind them.”
