On August 6, 2025, the Department of Veterans Affairs unilaterally terminated the VA–NAGE Master Agreement under Executive Order 14251.

This action is unprecedented, unlawful, and a direct attack on your rights as federal employees. But let’s be clear: NAGE/SEIU is still your union. Your rights are protected. And we are not backing down.

You Still Have Rights – Even Without a Contract – NAGE will enforce them!

Federal law protects:

✅ Due process

✅ The right to respond to discipline

✅ Grievance, EEOC, and MSPB processes

✅ Whistleblower and anti-retaliation protections

✅ Fair pay and safe working conditions

✅ Access to alternative dispute resolution

These rights do not disappear because a contract is terminated.

Our Response

We are working with legal experts, union allies, and Congress to challenge this action. But we need you to stay engaged and united.

Union Local Tax Issues

Federal law now requires that every local union file an annual information return—Form 990, 990-EZ, or 990-N—with the IRS.

If your local fails to file under this new requirement, your local will lose its tax-exempt status.
